Subscribed to Stella Maris, one day I read an excerpt from the work in one of the magazines that encouraged me to better know the entire work and so I bought all of Maria Valtorta's books online.

Impact on faith

One gets the impression of truly seeing the scenes described, one understands the Gospels better. One really gets the impression of seeing Jesus before us and his Holy Mother. I have already reread the entire work several times, I never tire of it, it's so beautiful and interesting to know all of Jesus' life in detail!

Discovery of the work

I first read Maria Valtorta's work around the age of 37. After a romantic breakup that left me depressed, fragile, and in search of truth, I turned to certain practices, healers, etc., of which I naively ignored the esoteric nature. I fell physically ill. It was during this time that my father suggested I read Maria's work, the 10 volumes of The Gospel as It Was Revealed to Me.

Impact on faith

I already loved Jesus. But with The Gospel as it was revealed to me, I felt projected to his side, I became a witness to the Gospels that I had heard since my childhood. Reading this work gave me the delight of seeing Jesus live in his daily life, as if I were with him, and feeling all his tenderness and love. Through his pen, Jesus gives himself back to us. We are WITH him, we feel him cry, we see him forgive, especially Judas. Jesus, the Christ, gives himself back to us in a concrete way. Our sufferings take on a different meaning and this closeness with Jesus heals us internally. Reading this work leaves no room for theoretical interpretations that would alter the beauty of Jesus's face and the message of the Gospel.

Daily prayer has become an integral part of my life. I have better understood my wrongdoings. I returned to the sacrament of forgiveness. I procured the other writings of Maria Valtorta: the notebooks, the revelations. I became more interested in the lives of the Saints and mystics. In 2019, with my cousin and my sister, we organized and welcomed in the church of our region the arrival of Mr. Bruno Perrinet and Mr. Gino Filion who propagate Maria's work beyond the borders of Europe.

What would you say to someone hesitating to discover this work?

When this happens, I try to testify about the exceptional value of Maria Valtorta's work, the sacrifice of her life, and the miraculous aspect of her mission. I try to demonstrate what it has brought into my life and to gently say how sad it would be to deprive oneself of such a jewel of knowledge of the heart of our Lord Jesus.

Discovery of the work

I discovered the work during a meeting within our Parish where one of the community servants had presented the work of Maria Valtorta.

Impact on faith

The very evening of the encounter, I set out in search of Maria Valtorta and stumbled upon the "Jesus Today" page. And that evening, the Gospel passage corresponded to the encounter between Jesus and Peter. And in this passage from "The Gospel as it was revealed to me," Peter asks Jesus what he wants and Jesus replies, "I want to be your Friend." When I read His response, I started to cry! For me, through this passage, Jesus personally asked me if I wanted to be his friend! It was a great source of joy for me.

Since that moment, I regularly read "The Gospel as It Has Been Revealed to Me" by Maria and since then, I have received many answers to my questions. I have become much more involved in my Parish as I take care of the young catechism students, the altar servers whose number is constantly increasing, and I have joined the parish choir. Day after day, I strive to live so that my Jesus is fulfilled. And recently, I have committed myself to the path of Confirmation.

What would you say to someone hesitating to discover this work?

May this work bring me many answers and comfort, for I am convinced that Jesus still and always evangelizes through Maria Valtorta.

It is through my family members that for over 20 years I have discovered the work "The Gospel as it was revealed to me". At first I thought it was a fictional work. I quickly realized its truthfulness, it is daily nourishment for me and several members of my family.

Discovery of the work

When I was 18 years old, I experienced a particularly painful romantic breakup and my heart was filled with questions. By chance, I discovered a book in my house without really looking for it, titled The Notebooks of 1943, which piqued my curiosity and so I randomly opened it. In the excerpt that I read, Jesus made me discover the true meaning of the Lord's Prayer, which I knew mechanically, but had never really grasped the importance of the words. I then rediscovered my Faith in God.

Impact on faith

By introducing me to Jesus as he was during his life on earth, in a way so close and familiar that I could have believed he was living with me. I also understood that the work came from God through the exceptional clarity of Christ's actions and words both in the Gospel as it was revealed to me and in the notebooks of Maria Valtorta. This work never seemed to me to be a fiction inspired by the Gospel simply because the actions and words of Jesus made me question and reflect greatly and break some of my prejudices. I was then able to understand the homilies of certain priests and the importance of the sacraments in the Church and also the importance of its universality!

Just under a year after starting to read the Notebooks and the Gospel as it was revealed to me, I finally returned to mass and little by little over the years, I ended up believing and understanding several truths of the faith, including the importance of the Virgin Mary who is an integral part of my life today, the worship of the souls in purgatory, the importance of personal prayer and a little later I even started to go back to confession regularly, which was particularly difficult, since in Quebec I had heard a lot of dark stories about the bad advice given by priests. My faith in Jesus and Mary gave me the courage to take the step and I now find the greatest good in going there frequently and I even encouraged my best friend to try the experience which also did him the greatest good.

What would you say to someone hesitating to discover this work?

To read it with a child's heart in order to be inspired by it. Maria Valtorta's work was only the beginning of my life of Faith since today I like to read the lives of the different saints of the Church and as Christ so well said we can recognize the tree by its fruits and the fruits of the work are very numerous and positive.
