I have never been able to remember how I discovered this work, which I initially started reading online at maria-valtorta.org. I don't like reading on a screen, but in this case, I had no problem making an exception. Later, I acquired the printed books (read 3 times), and not just The Gospel as Revealed to Me. I acquired the notebooks, the diaries, the book of Azarias, and the lesson on the Epistle of Saint Paul to the Romans (all read at least twice).
It is an extraordinarily vivid text. Maria Valtorta has remarkably translated the states of mind and has managed to convey joy as well as sadness, interest or indifference, strength or weakness of character, faith or hypocrisy of the characters. One could almost come to sense the scents and odors. And above all, we follow Our Lord, thereby receiving the same teaching as that received by the apostles.
I pray more, I even created a Rosary with clauses taken from the work, a Rosary that I recite in full every Sunday with a small group online on Telegram, and spread over three days during the week (one chaplet each day). And I talk about the work to anyone who wants to listen. I share videos from other channels on Telegram and the VK network in a dedicated group I created for this purpose.
Be patient, read just a little at a time, ideally in the evening before sleeping, and let the Holy Spirit instruct you during your sleep about what you have just read. Have the mindset of a child discovering without nitpicking to find faults. As you go through the chapters, measure the coherence, understand how we truly become children of God in daily life.

After our wedding at my in-laws'. When I was looking for a book, I found volume 1 (Given by a nun from our family). I was the first to read it.
Incredibly surprised and with tears of gratitude because Jesus gave me this opportunity, me, a sinner, invisible dust. Each time I returned to Pondicherry, I bought in Tamil (a language originating from South India) and thanks to God, I read up to Volume 9 in Tamil and Volume 10 in French.
"Nearer, my God, to Thee I would like to rest, it is You who created me...". "JESUS came into my life and He transformed everything... He turned everything upside down..." Ex: In 2025, God granted us the grace to complete the "M" in 4 months.

I discovered the work of Maria Valtorta through the YouTube channel: "La parole qui donne la vie Ă©ternelle". I immediately appreciated the richness of the texts and wanted to acquire the 10 volumes in order to go through them entirely, at my own pace.
When reading this work, one truly feels like being with Christ and hearing Him, seeing Him. How then can one not truly love Him? Since then, I understand better how to live my Catholic faith. I had already read the Gospels, but I was always left wanting more; now, when I read the official texts, they take on their full meaning.
I have also acquired the other books that Maria Valtorta has left us. They are a gold mine thanks to the lessons that Jesus dictated to Maria Valtorta. All this helps to understand the greatest mysteries of our faith, such as the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist, the precious value of the sacrament of reconciliation (confession), the depth of the holy sacrifice of the Mass. And all the richness of the doctrine of the Catholic Church. What a beautiful heritage that Jesus has left us, which has been enriched over the centuries.
Reading this work allows us to truly understand the foundations of our faith. It is Jesus himself who imparts the lessons to us. No ambiguity, no modernist interpretation, the 10 commandments explained by God, we are certain not to go astray.
Since I started reading this work, I have reread the 10 volumes in their entirety several times, and each time I am amazed to discover passages that I hadn't really noticed in previous readings. The Gospel is now part of my daily life. I have a strong desire to love Jesus, to make Him loved and known.

I do not understand if there are Church authorities who claim that there is nothing against the faith, then if they claim that the writings are not of divine origin, they should specifically say in what way they are not compatible with Catholic doctrine.

A friend lent me volume 3 while I was going through many family challenges and continuing my journey for my catechumenate.
Reading Maria Valtorta allows me to better understand the Gospel. Her work is of great spiritual richness. It reveals details that challenge us, bringing us back to the essentials, love as a remedy, and humility.
Before Maria Valtorta, I adored Jesus because for him, I requested baptism without being aware of the impact it would have on my life. I pray every day, I go to mass on Sundays. The teachings of Jesus dispensed there lead me to a total conversion, a giving of myself, a change of life. I envision my life differently with more simplicity and compassion.
I will simply tell him to let himself be touched by the divine message which is more relevant than ever in a world where the voice of the Lord seems no longer to be heard.

I discovered this work when entering a Catholic bookshop one day at the age of 32, after reading the Book of Revelation and the Bible and not understanding it. I was a Catholic and went to church in my youth, but there was very little catechesis. The Maria Valtorta work actually assisted me to understand my faith, and I believe my faith today was a result of this work, as I was so disappointed with my Catholic faith that I contemplated leaving for a Protestant denomination, as I found no devotion in any Masses I attended until the age of 32.
The work has helped me cultivate devotion and love both for my faith and for the Lord, and understand the depth of His love for us. I could not have known the Lord in such a personal way without this work.
The work has deeply impacted my spiritual life forever. It has given me a great devotion.
I would say what Pope Pius XII said: “He who reads it shall understand.” The Lord’s sheep know His voice.
I could never fully express the impact this work has had on my faith, and the fact that it has protected me in this time from following false and heretical teaching which are so widespread today.

I discovered the work through my father. He had read the four volumes and sent me the first one. I consumed the whole volume, could not put it down, and asked for the other three.
I have read all four volumes 10, 12, 15 times in the past 30 years. Each time I begin to read them, I see something totally different that I didn’t see before. Now I’m on probably number 16 or 17, and it’s like going to an old friend. From losing children to miscarriages, to celebrating weddings, to going to funerals, our Lord, through these volumes, wrapped me up in His love. I am friends with so many of the people in our Lord’s life that the Gospel doesn’t address. Saint Simon the Zealot was my favorite apostle. Elisha, who lost so many sons, is a favorite. I ask Judas Iscariot’s mother to pray for my wayward son to come back to the Sacraments. I could go on and on.
The volumes fill in the gaps and address all five of our senses. I agree with a priest that the Gospel is enough, but when you’ve been given a gift to fill in between the lines of the Gospel writers, why wouldn’t you embrace it? We’re sensual, relational people. The volumes provide relationship and address our five senses, bringing the Gospel readings alive more than they ever could have been without it.
Reading these books for the last three decades has made me realize that you can plant the seeds about these volumes with people, but you can’t bring on their acceptance. We are held accountable to plant the seed about the volumes, but we are certainly not the ones to make it grow within our loved ones.
I wish the priests who say the Gospel is enough would actually read part of the volumes before advising.

I feel like I'm taking a time machine that projects me 2000 years back to Palestine to follow the wanderings of Our Lord Jesus Christ, his apostles and disciples, his Mother, the Virgin Mary who is also ours (how lucky we are!) - John 19:27.

There is only one religion - Saint Matthew 22:35-40. This Work is yet another testimony of the immense and unconditional Love that God has for each of us - Isaiah 43:19.
What a gift from Heaven this Work is, which cannot be only from a person but from God. When you read it with your heart wide open, how can you still doubt it? Maria Valtorta (Little John) is "only" a spokesperson but what a spokesperson! Saint John 15:13.

It made Jesus, Mary, the Apostles, and all the characters mentioned in the Gospel more "familiar" to me to the point of perceiving them... visually!!
The reading/meditation of the Canonical Gospels is clearer, more vivid, and current to me, I would say.
I would say that... when I bought the first book, I didn't feel the enthusiasm I imagined I would find... then as I continued, I felt enveloped and projected into such a Beautiful and lively Spiritual dimension that I couldn't do without it anymore. It has been more than 20 years that I have been reading and rereading the entire Work.
