I am 77 years old. I watched a television show, "Spiritual Investigation" on CNews. The subject was the work of Maria Valtorta. I wanted to know. I ordered the ten volumes and I read the entire work.

Truth be told, I discovered the work of Maria Valtorta in 2020 following numerous prayers during the global crisis that we experienced that year. I was walking in a park and I was speaking inwardly to the Virgin Mary, telling her that the loneliness was quite heavy and that I would need people with whom to share my faith.

When I was 18 years old, I experienced a particularly painful romantic breakup and my heart was filled with questions. By chance, I discovered a book in my house without really looking for it, titled The Notebooks of 1943, which piqued my curiosity and so I randomly opened it. In the excerpt that I read, Jesus made me discover the true meaning of the Lord's Prayer, which I knew mechanically, but had never really grasped the importance of the words. I then rediscovered my Faith in God.

By introducing me to Jesus as he was during his life on earth, in a way so close and familiar that I could have believed he was living with me. I also understood that the work came from God through the exceptional clarity of Christ's actions and words both in the Gospel as it was revealed to me and in the notebooks of Maria Valtorta. This work never seemed to me to be a fiction inspired by the Gospel simply because the actions and words of Jesus made me question and reflect greatly and break some of my prejudices. I was then able to understand the homilies of certain priests and the importance of the sacraments in the Church and also the importance of its universality!

Just under a year after starting to read the Notebooks and the Gospel as it was revealed to me, I finally returned to mass and little by little over the years, I ended up believing and understanding several truths of the faith, including the importance of the Virgin Mary who is an integral part of my life today, the worship of the souls in purgatory, the importance of personal prayer and a little later I even started to go back to confession regularly, which was particularly difficult, since in Quebec I had heard a lot of dark stories about the bad advice given by priests. To read it with a child's heart in order to be inspired by it. Maria Valtorta's work was only the beginning of my life of Faith since today I like to read the lives of the different saints of the Church and as Christ so well said we can recognize the tree by its fruits and the fruits of the work are very numerous and positive.

I had been searching for the path to God for a long time, but swept up in an intense professional life where I daily encountered physical risk, I ignored the spiritual aspect of our life. Thus, I always pushed back the moment to take the first step. It was by reading the book "God, Science, the Proofs" by Bonassies/Bolloré, then by watching the video "Maria Valtorta, a gift from God validated by science" that I discovered Maria. I bought the first volume, it was a shock. I was caught in the net of the Holy Spirit, to my greatest joy.

Throughout the pages and visions of Maria, I felt as if I was transported with her into the world of Jesus. Coming from a scientific and technical culture, I conducted my reading relying on the cartography of Carlos Martinez, always starting the reading with the canonical Gospel. I should clarify that it was important for me to confront the message with reality. And the reality, from a Christian intuition, was the canonical texts. For six months, I lived with Jesus, Mary, Joseph, and the apostles. At first, I was put off by the (hyper)descriptive style of the work before understanding that these were the detailed proofs that the Lord was addressing to the scholars of the modern world, for the future.

I really felt like the eleventh-hour worker from the Gospel of Matthew. I went from absolute shame, shame of having so much ignored my God and His love for me, to deep repentance, and to prayer. Today, only my wife (who read the work at my urging) is aware of this conversion. From one who called himself a Christian but did not practice, I seek every opportunity to worship God. I look forward to Sunday with eagerness and joy, I travel twenty kilometers every week to worship, I pray daily, I love to say the rosary, I no longer hesitate to confess and my library is regularly enriched with Christian books (bibles, breviaries, works of the saints...). I started the notebooks (it's meant for priests!). I am thinking of giving lectures to introduce Maria.

You are going to receive a tremendous shock, your heart will yo-yo, you will cry a lot, even if you are, like me, a man seasoned in the sufferings of the world. You will be immersed in the Love of Jesus and Mary for you. An ocean of Love that you do not suspect. You will understand the suffering of Jesus in the face of our sterile and distressing lives.

I received a first publication from Mary of Nazareth without really paying attention to it and then I saw a slight difference between the Gospels and the writings of Maria VALTORTA. So I wanted to read the full passages. There my soul opened up with the impression of being enlightened. Since then, I go to mass and I no longer say "my God my God" but I try to do God's will on a daily basis.

I go to mass every Sunday today, I read the Gospels and the writings of Maria Valtorta daily, I confess every month. I dedicate the first Friday of the month to the sacred heart of Jesus and the first Saturday of each month to the immaculate heart of Mary. I pray the rosary daily and the chaplet of mercy daily. I take communion. I have made several personal pilgrimages to Lourdes, Lisieux, La Salette, Fatima and Medugjore and Our Lady of Laus. Each time, it was God who pushed me to these places that I did not know. This has profoundly changed my faith.

I would say that if one wants to know Jesus, reading the work of Maria Valtorta is not simply reading but it is living Jesus and following him.
