It is the work of God and not of man. A magnificent work that wants to enlighten us and complete the Gospels. God never ceases to extend His hand to save us from eternal death. To believe in Him, to love Him and to love others with a true and respectful love, is to save our soul. Too many idols, falsehoods, attachments to earthly goods disturb our souls in these times and distance us from God. Jesus, the incarnate Word, shows me God's love for His poor creatures who have received His Soul. God does not want our death, He wants our life in Him forever. That is why He gives us once again a path of holiness. Learning to know and love God more and more through this work is a blessing. Thank you, Lord.

It was my wife who introduced it to me; She is very curious about everything and she told me about it during a shared breakfast several years ago.

Every morning, I read the Gospel of the day on the "Marie de Nazareth" website, then the Gospel according to Maria Valtorta and the "Deepen" text. This illuminates the Gospel text and goes further; I feel even closer to Jesus. When a Gospel is more difficult to understand, Jesus explains it through Maria. I feel more of Jesus' humanity (reading the Passion made my wife and me cry).

My wife and I talk about it almost every morning, and it strengthens us in our prayers and in our life; we can't help but talk about it to those around us whenever the opportunity arises.

What would you say to someone hesitating to discover this work?

Firstly, I explain how Maria Valtorta was led to write to make it understood that it is not possible that she could have invented it. My wife or I, we offer to send them the text of the day.

As a community servant in my parish, I had the opportunity to introduce Maria Valtorta during an evening in the Lenten season with the agreement of our pastor who was of course present. Through a friend who already knew the work well and who advised me to delve into it while I was returning from a pilgrimage in the Holy Land.

Impact on faith

Maria Valtorta's work allows us to see how Jesus lives, reacts, looks, touches, loves. It has helped me to get closer to Jesus, to embody him in my faith, to love him better. It was my father who first spoke to me about the writings of Maria Valtorta in the 1980s. At the time, I didn't pay much attention to it and above all, I was scared by the reading of the many long volumes. At 35, my faith was not firmly rooted. In 2015, a friend introduced me to the WhatsApp application which provides the correspondence between the Gospel of the day and the text in the writings of Maria Valtorta. Since that day, I regularly read one chapter or another of Maria Valtorta's work.

These writings allow me to dive into the heart of Jesus, and to understand very deeply, his doctrine and his actions. It's a kind of wonderful spiritual sweetness to find oneself alongside Jesus.

What would you say to someone hesitating to discover this work?

My own wife refuses to read the Work. I tell her that "it's not serious, the Gospel is enough. For me, it helps me to go further and to love Jesus more. The day you feel a desire rising within you, let it happen. "Read and you will understand" as a Pope said (Pius XII I believe).

I believe that this Work is a miracle before our eyes of the 21st century. Just like in the time of Jesus, everyone is free to believe or not to believe. The scribes and the Pharisees saw and heard Jesus. Some believed. Having recently become a reader of Maria Valtorta's work: "The Gospel as It Has Been Revealed to Me", I am eager to express how much I regularly enjoy getting to know it. Being with Christ during his public life amidst the landscapes and scents in which he evolved, with a multitude of details that are not mentioned in the Gospels, seeing him live, move, speak to the apostles and interact with them is a joy at all times. Thanks to her writings, Maria Valtorta has made Christ extraordinarily alive and present for me, life with the Apostles, more animated. We are led to love the Lord both more naturally and more strongly. The richness of this content makes me long for the encounter with Christ with an enhanced joy and impatience.

Even though I was already practicing before receiving "Jesus Today", the evangelical texts — sometimes difficult to understand — that I regularly heard at mass, they took on a whole new depth and became clearer thanks to "The Gospel as it was revealed to me".
