Discovery of the work

Somewhat by chance, to tell the truth. I received a first publication from Mary of Nazareth without really paying attention to it and then I saw a slight difference between the Gospels and the writings of Maria VALTORTA. So I wanted to read the full passages. There my soul opened up with the impression of being enlightened. Today I can't do without reading these writings and feeling completely found, like a second birth. Since then, I go to mass and I no longer say "my God my God" but I try to do God's will on a daily basis.

Impact on love for the Gospel

When I read the first passages, I was immediately absorbed as if I were living close to Jesus, the apostles. I was traveling through the reading of the gospels according to Maria Valtorta. This pushed me to seek God, it profoundly transformed me. I searched through the Gospels and through the writings of Maria Valtorta, this made them clearer.

Concrete impact on faith life

I go to mass every Sunday today, I read the Gospels and the writings of Maria Valtorta daily, I confess every month. I dedicate the first Friday of the month to the sacred heart of Jesus and the first Saturday of each month to the immaculate heart of Mary. I pray the rosary daily and the chaplet of mercy daily. I take communion. I have made several personal pilgrimages to Lourdes, Lisieux, La Salette, Fatima and Medugjore and Our Lady of Laus. Each time, it was God who pushed me to these places that I did not know. This has profoundly changed my faith.

What would you say to someone who hesitates to discover this work?

I would say that if one wants to know Jesus, reading the work of Maria Valtorta is not simply reading but it is living Jesus and following him.

Discovery of the work

Following an inexplicable experience, I found myself one evening swearing to serve the Lord, without understanding the impact of this event in my life. Born into Catholicism, but an atheist. The next day, I sought to understand. And I came across a lecture by Jean-François Lavère on the scientific nature of the work, after which I was convinced that I needed to read to understand.

Impact on love for the Gospel

This work literally led me to the Gospel. It allowed me to understand all those things that seemed obscure to me in the Catholic religion, to make them clear and luminous. Unfortunately, they are often used as excuses to distance oneself from it, when in fact that's where the whole treasure lies. It brought me back to the daily reading of the Gospel, to a keen love for Jesus, and the certainty that the salvation of the World depended on the Holy Catholic Church. By sharing the daily life of Jesus, his Mother and the apostles, a closeness and deep respect are created and permeate the soul. Convinced that Christ had given his life for us and that we should give ours in return.

Concrete impact on faith life

I was a great sinner in all areas of existence, an atheist, inclined to the pleasures of this world. Since discovering this work, I have had a progressive journey that has led today to a life of prayer, Bible study, and the lives of the Saints, on a daily basis. I am present at Sunday Mass as well as during the week and I am involved in the life of my parish. Simply put, a return to the sacraments, a return to God.

What would you say to someone who hesitates to discover this work?

I would quote Blessed Gabriel Allegra "I do not think it is wise and fair to remain indifferent to such a treasure"

Discovery of the work

By the film Miracles by Pierre Barnérias.

Impact on love for the Gospel

Once the work was read, I started to read the New Testament in its entirety, which I had not yet done. As for Jesus Christ, I truly discovered him through this work.

Concrete impact on faith life

During the reading of the work and following the discovery of factual elements for which the veracity of the Catholic faith is the only valid explanation, I asked to be baptized in this Church, baptism scheduled for the Easter Vigil 2026 :)

What would you say to someone who hesitates to discover this work?

It depends on where his hesitation comes from. Personally, I tell people who are not familiar with the work that the visions have been authenticated and all that remains is to form an opinion on who gave Maria these visions and thus deduce logically that it is a work of divine origin.

Additional testimony

Reading this work has changed my perceptions about life in general and more specifically about becoming very believing in one and triune God, belief based on the analysis of several supernatural facts analyzed by science, thus becoming knowledge and this new birth made me know Christ and all His love that stems from the path He makes me tread every day. Glory to the Lord.

Discovery of the work

I first discovered the writings of Maria Valtorta thanks to an article in the Christian Family magazine, and then more directly through a friend.

Impact on love for the Gospel

Reading the writings of Maria Valtorta has made me experience my faith more as a relationship with the Father and His Son. It has also given me a great taste for reading the canonical gospels.

Concrete impact on faith life

Reading the writings of Maria Valtorta has driven me to work daily on my flaws. It has sharpened my desire for prayer and given me the desire to read the canonical gospels more often.

What would you say to someone who hesitates to discover this work?

Read and you will see.

Discovery of the work

A friend had the volumes on his boat when I visited him. I tried to read them online, but it was too dense. I rediscovered the work at the World Youth Day in Lisbon, when I expressed the desire to learn more about the person of Jesus and to be able to ask him all the questions I had. The work was beginning to be transcribed into audio readings on Spotify.

Impact on love for the Gospel

Before, I considered myself a Christian, with a disdain for the institutional church, and reading the Work, particularly Jesus' commentary, reconciled me with the necessity of maintaining unity in the Church despite its human imperfection. It also answered all the questions my mind needed to better reconnect with my heart. I was so much in rationality, I needed to nourish my sense of the concrete to then be free to be reborn into the spirituality of love.

Concrete impact on faith life

I have reflected on certain doctrines of faith. I understood the intentions behind them so as not to just apply them literally and feel guilty when these doctrines were difficult to apply.

What would you say to someone who hesitates to discover this work?

You will discover a human Jesus in the supernatural sense of the term, You will discover His doctrine in a simple and gentle way through a story that surpasses the best series!

Discovery of the work

By the testimony of those who had read it.

Impact on love for the Gospel

It is my visualization of the scenes described, which made me appropriate the life of Jesus. In fact, a three-dimensional image emerged from the Gospel. My senses allowed me to bring the text back to life. Jesus took his place by my side.

Concrete impact on faith life

A relationship has been established with Jesus, not as a historical figure but as a current character responding to the meaning of my existence.

What would you say to someone who hesitates to discover this work?

Let him be depicted through the reading of this book. All his senses will be able to apprehend the divine. Thus, enter into another biblical dimension.

Discovery of the work

Years after mom's death, I had retrieved her books because she often told me they were wonderful. I opened the first volume only to close the last one 3 years later.

Impact on love for the Gospel

It was necessary for me to internalize because there is the life of Jesus but we have the feeling of living in the midst of the scenes described by Maria... And then there are teachings from Jesus and Mary and it also gives an incredible proximity.

Concrete impact on faith life

I take communion every day and before mass, I need to read the correspondence with "the gospel as it was revealed to me" because there are often teachings, words of Jesus.

What would you say to someone who hesitates to discover this work?

I have already encouraged people to read the gospel as it was revealed to me. It strengthens faith, there is nothing in contradiction with the bible, it simply needs to be read with the eyes of the heart and not those of the intellect, many graces result from it and then it allows to go further by reading Luisa Piccarreta who is the logical continuation it seems to me, to get closer and closer to Jesus.

Discovery of the work

I discovered the work of Maria Valtorta during a retreat preached by Father James Manjackal. Bruno Perrinet, who was present at this retreat, gave me volume 1 of "The Gospel as It Was Revealed to Me" (EMV). After reading this first volume, I continued with the next nine. My family also knew a little about this work.

Impact on love for the Gospel

The EMV is a work with a lot of dialogues and descriptions. I had heard in the past that Christ's teaching was simple and was not reserved for scholars. This is the case with the four Gospels, and it is even more so with the EMV. Indeed, it contains many explanations of Jesus' parables. In the EMV, the apostles also ask a lot of questions, and Jesus takes the time to answer them in detail. Many links are also made with the rest of the writings of the Bible, notably with the Old Testament. Everything is illuminated, everything is clear, everything is simple. Simplicity and Truth. Indeed, the truth is clearly stated. This work, being over 5,000 pages, obviously has more dialogues and descriptions than the four Gospels. This allows us, if we personally consider this work to be authentic, to better know the temperament of each apostle. On Sundays, when I listen to the reading of the Gospel, it provides me with additional insight for a better understanding, and therefore a better integration of Christ's teaching into my daily life.

Concrete impact on faith life

Reading the writings of Maria Valtorta was a major catalyst in my return to faith. I come from a Catholic family. When I was younger, I consciously distanced myself from the Catholic Church. With a bit more maturity, I became interested in Catholicism again, its doctrine - initially to better understand. Then I went through a great trial, and it was from this point that I seriously questioned God, as an adult. It was during this period that I was given the first volume of the EMV. The writings of Maria Valtorta were a comfort to me and a true catechism, as the work develops teachings at all levels. This reading really helped me to fully enter into the Catholic faith. More concretely, I try to confess about once every two months, I go to mass every Sunday, I take communion, and above all, I am in friendship with the Church, the Pope, the bishops, our priests. The writings of Maria Valtorta, far from isolating me from the Church, bring me closer to it. For example, I proposed to my priest to create a songbook for our parish. In this way, I fully belong to the Church.

What would you say to someone who hesitates to discover this work?

I would tell him that to this day, the Church does not forbid reading this work: we are therefore free to read it. This work is criticized, but it is also very appreciated by many faithful. So form your own opinion by reading at least one full volume. ;-)
