Detailed Testimonies
Discovery of the work
I discovered the writings of Maria Valtorta while watching a video on YouTube and subsequently ordered the first volume which I read eagerly and I continue. I am on the fourth volume.
Impact on love for the Gospel
It was wonderful to see Jesus in a different light, to follow him, to hear him, in all the details of His life. I learned to know him better and understand what he wants for us. The episode of Joseph's death particularly moved me, but above all, I drew closer to Mary and her infinitely great role in God's plan. I discovered her great humility and the love that Jesus has for her.
Concrete impact on faith life
I returned to the Catholic Church after spending more than thirty years in the Protestant Adventist church. I rediscovered the riches of the Catholic Church, that of my childhood, with a new perspective and a love for the Eucharistic communion, very different from the Last Supper.
What would you say to someone who hesitates to discover this work?
To believe that it is indeed the Spirit of God who is the origin and to recognize the voice of Jesus who says "my sheep hear my voice and recognize me".
Discovery of the work
I discovered the work while searching for God. A Divine inspiration led me to order the first volume. I bought all the others in stride. As well as the notebooks, the journals, the lessons on the epistle of St. Paul to the Romans (which I am currently reading).
Impact on love for the Gospel
The work offers us the chance to live in the time of Christ, to become one of his apostles. We truly meet and discover everyone: the sweet and pure Mary, the humor and impulsivity of Peter, the wisdom of John, the extreme kindness of Christ. It's an incredible work and I thank God for letting me discover it.
Concrete impact on faith life
I was baptized as a child, but I grew up in an atheist family, even clearly anticlerical, where the name of Jesus had never been pronounced. But as a young adult, these questions interested me a lot, I was searching for God. I read the Bible (and other religions) but it was not enough to convert me, I found the Old Testament so hard, I had trouble associating it with the God I felt. After reading Maria Valtorta, I went through my catechumenate, I received my first communion and my confirmation.
What would you say to someone who hesitates to discover this work?
During my catechumenate, I met some cautious people at work, they did not want to hear about it until the Church had approved it. I then told them that it was really a pity for them to deprive themselves of this great grace. May the work be approved by the Church in their lifetime.
Additional testimony
While I was reading Maria Valtorta, I was reading (rereading) the Gospels in parallel. Maria's visions detail scenes that help us better understand the attitude of Christ and his detractors. It's extraordinarily rich. The love of Jesus is supernatural, not human. It is beyond what we know.

Advice from a friend.
Impact on love for the Gospel
I would say that reading Maria Valtorta had a decisive impact 2 and a half years ago when I tried to turn to Christ and Mary. Even though I am of Protestant origin and not baptized. My scientific mind was seized, impressed by the evidence of a supernatural phenomenon. A few days after I started reading, I wrote on my Facebook page this proclamation that still amazes me today: "Jesus and Mary walked on this earth 2000 years ago and proclaimed a message of love with incredible courage." Since then, I pray every day in front of my two icons of Christ and Mary, and I have been saying a rosary a day for a year. Christ and Mary entered my life at 56 years old and I testify that it is largely thanks to Maria Valtorta.

What would you say to someone who hesitates to discover this work?
I've already done it, I tell this story of this skeptical scientist who challenged the details of the story one by one and who quickly became convinced and pursued his quest for proof on thousands of cases. I would recommend reading it to anyone who finds the Gospels or the Bible too difficult to read.
Discovery of the work
Watching videos on YouTube.
Impact on love for the Gospel
Through the precision and details about the concrete life of Jesus and his apostles, of the Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph.
Concrete impact on faith life
I had been baptized and received communion when I was little, but I did not believe in God, even though I perhaps sensed a higher power. I sought the truth in all religions and traditions, and I had even already read the four Gospels without leaving this spirit of disbelief. Specifically, in the space of the two months where I listened to "the work" in my car: deep conversion, return to the church, confessions, desire to align my life with the teachings of Jesus, daily rosary and weekly praises and adoration in a prayer group. I have since discovered a parish where I feel good and am active (Alpha course, Youcat, pilgrimage...). I now share my testimony whenever I have the opportunity, as it can contribute to their conversion.
What would you say to someone who hesitates to discover this work?
Simply that he reads it. With all the details he will find, he will journey with Christ through vibrant places that He has traveled. Also, to better understand among other things the mystery of Mary and that of Judas.
Discovery of the work
After a painful period in my life, although baptized according to the Catholic rite, I opted for evangelical Protestantism, as the faithful seemed to me much more fervent, based on my experience. Then, I told myself that the Mother of God could only be exceptional and I wondered if Mary-Mother had had other children. In doing my personal research, I discovered, thanks to God, The Gospel as it was revealed to me which explains among other things the vows of Joseph and Mary to remain chaste. Thus, Joseph, according to volume 1, was a Nazirite, that is, he wanted to dedicate himself to God and remain chaste.
Impact on love for the Gospel
Deeply moved by the different personalities of all Jesus' contemporaries. We laugh, we cry, we marvel, and we almost feel pity for Judas.
Concrete impact on faith life
Reading and rereading of the work. Help to meditate on the Rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, as well as that of the Precious Blood. Finally, practice of prayer.
What would you say to someone who hesitates to discover this work?
Before judging, at least read the first chapter and you won't be able to leave this fascinating work.
Discovery of the work
I had trouble falling asleep, and one day, a friend told me about a reading he listens to fall asleep... It was the work of Maria Valtorta. So I listened... and it worked well, I fell asleep!... At first, I looked down on it: "Blonde, blue-eyed Mary! Don't they know that people in Palestine have dark skin?!"… Then I was increasingly moved. So I researched these "20,000 details verified by science"... and there, as a scientist, I understood that this work could rationally only come from God… As a result, I changed my attitude and began to listen to it with humility and eagerness.
Impact on love for the Gospel
Born to a Catholic mother and an atheist father, God was a certainty for me as a child. As a young adult, I completely rejected the Catholic Church... I thus built my beliefs, a personal mix with a Jesus of my own making, some New Age, a bit of reincarnation,... At 57 years old, reading this work "flipped me like a pancake". It led me to know Jesus, and, as we only love what we know, I began to love Jesus more and more. My beliefs were turned upside down. For example, today I believe in the inerrancy of the Bible, in papal infallibility, in the Real Presence in the Eucharist, etc...
Concrete impact on faith life
Concretely, I have completely reorganized my life (towards God): - I go to mass at least 4 times a week (because there isn't one every day!), I confess once or twice a month, - Every day I read the Word of God, - I pray the rosary at least 2 times a week, - I share about God (in almost every encounter that God offers me, in a cenacle, in "theological" evenings for non-believers...). - I have also detached myself from many things (zero TV or movies, disinterest in various distractions,...). - I now pray for people who hurt me,... - I read Luisa Piccarreta's writings every day, especially the Hours of the Passion.
What would you say to someone who hesitates to discover this work?
Afraid that it might not be inspired by God? Then, take the time to inform yourself about the scientific evidence on one hand, and about the fruits on the other hand... See this page: https://edifiant.fr/maria-valtorta And read, because you yourself have a capacity for discernment. Wasting time? What is wasting a little time compared to missing out on an extraordinary gift from God, finally finding the meaning of life, the Truth?
Discovery of the work
After a drug addiction therapy, I was challenged to say a rosary a day and "your life will change"... I started after having nothing more to lose and slowly, after moving in front of a church (by chance), an acquaintance offered me the complete collection of Maria Valtorta's work. I started by reading volume 1 and so on up to 10. My anointing from the Lord happened in my living room while reading: I died for you!.. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit entered me. I felt what love was because I had never known love. My life has changed since then.
Impact on love for the Gospel
Reading the volumes allowed me to know Jesus, to live an intimacy with Him and my love for Mother Mary is boundless... She led me through the rosary and the reading of the Word because for me it's from the Father of Heaven. I began to know the sacraments and held prayer evenings. I even quit smoking out of love because His Love is so great. So great that I felt the need to give and proclaim the Gospel. Through reading the collection, I can reread His teachings, His pearls of knowledge.
Concrete impact on faith life
A total conversion and above all the practice of the sacraments of forgiveness and the Eucharist. The sacrament of forgiveness gives wings and truly heals our wounded heart. I suffer from degenerative diseases and I have joy in me because my hope comes from above. I have no doubt that reading the Gospel of Maria Valtorta can lead to conversions .. it is a Living Word Since October 1995, I no longer feel my emptiness inside me, this soul-destroying gnawer.
What would you say to someone who hesitates to discover this work?
You have nothing to lose. On the contrary, everything to gain. You will know Love.
Discovery of the work
By Fabien.
Impact on love for the Gospel
She gave me the discernment to understand the Word of Jesus Christ our Lord, I converted to the Catholic Apostolic Church.
Concrete impact on faith life
Everything changed with Jesus, I go every day to commune at the Holy Mass, every month to confess, the works and the fruits that result from it for the glory of God Trin and one...Amen.
What would you say to someone who hesitates to discover this work?
Read, then you will say what you felt...
Discovery of the work
Following an inexplicable experience, I found myself one evening swearing to serve the Lord, without understanding the impact of this event in my life. Born into Catholicism, but an atheist. The next day, I sought to understand. And I came across a lecture by Jean-François Lavère on the scientific nature of the work, after which I was convinced that I needed to read to understand.
Impact on love for the Gospel
This work literally led me to the Gospel. It allowed me to understand all those things that seemed obscure to me in the Catholic religion, to make them clear and luminous. Unfortunately, they are often used as excuses to distance oneself from it, when in fact that's where the whole treasure lies. It brought me back to the daily reading of the Gospel, to a keen love for Jesus, and the certainty that the salvation of the World depended on the Holy Catholic Church. By sharing the daily life of Jesus, his Mother and the apostles, a closeness and deep respect are created and permeate the soul. Convinced that Christ had given his life for us and that we should give ours in return.
Concrete impact on faith life
I was a great sinner in all areas of existence, an atheist, inclined to the pleasures of this world. Since discovering this work, I have had a progressive journey that has led today to a life of prayer, Bible study, and the lives of the Saints, on a daily basis. I am present at Sunday Mass as well as during the week and I am involved in the life of my parish. Simply put, a return to the sacraments, a return to God.
What would you say to someone who hesitates to discover this work?
I would quote Blessed Gabriel Allegra "I do not think it is wise and fair to remain indifferent to such a treasure"
Discovery of the work
By the film Miracles by Pierre Barnérias.
Impact on love for the Gospel
Once the work was read, I started to read the New Testament in its entirety, which I had not yet done. As for Jesus Christ, I truly discovered him through this work.
Concrete impact on faith life
During the reading of the work and following the discovery of factual elements for which the veracity of the Catholic faith is the only valid explanation, I asked to be baptized in this Church, baptism scheduled for the Easter Vigil 2026 :)
What would you say to someone who hesitates to discover this work?
It depends on where his hesitation comes from. Personally, I tell people who are not familiar with the work that the visions have been authenticated and all that remains is to form an opinion on who gave Maria these visions and thus deduce logically that it is a work of divine origin.
Additional testimony
Reading this work has changed my perceptions about life in general and more specifically about becoming very believing in one and triune God, belief based on the analysis of several supernatural facts analyzed by science, thus becoming knowledge and this new birth made me know Christ and all His love that stems from the path He makes me tread every day. Glory to the Lord.
